The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Usman Baba Alkali has called on police officers not to betray the trust of the government and people of the state while discharging their duties.

The Inspector General made the call while addressing the officers during a day familiarization tour to the Ogun state Police command headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta.

He urged them to discharge their responsibilities with professionalism in relation to crime sophistication in the society.

Mr. Baba Alkali urged the police officers to also watch out for human right abuse advising the police officers to always respect citizens right.He advised those planning to protest on June twelve to desist by celebrating the day peacefully.

The Inspector General who described his visit to Ogun state as home coming having served as the Ilaro division Police Officers years back called for continuous support of the community at ensuring peaceful society.

The Ogun State Police command commissioner, Mr. Edward Ajogun while welcoming the inspector thanked the Ogun state government for the assistance rendered to the command which include operational vehicles and communication gadgets.

He stated that the command and other security agencies are working to ensure that the proposed protests by sectional agitators on June twelve are controlled.
