Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described as unfounded the report published by some media houses that he plans to form new political Party Ahead of 2023 election.
The former in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta said he was currently in Kabul, Afghanistan, as a guest of President Ashraf Ghani noting that the said report is false and maintained that there was no plan to float a new political party now or in near future.
He said that the fabricated story was not surprising describing it as an efforts to drag him into politics.
Chief Obasanjo said he had left politics and will not go back into it.
The former president assured Nigerians that he will continue to perform his role as a statesman focused on providing counsel, support, or solutions wherever possible in Nigeria, Africa and indeed the world.
