In its bid to address incessant clashes between herders and famers in Ogun State, which often lead to loss of lives and property, the State House of Assembly has passed the Animal Grazing Regulation and Cattle Ranch Establishment Law, 2020 into law.
Part of a section of the bill prescribed a jail term of not less than three years without the option of fine including the forfeiture of the herds of cattle or livestock under his/her control to the State Government.

The Sponsor of the bill, Mr Ganiyu Oyedeji,member representing ifo 2 state constituency read the report of his committee during plenary in Abeokuta.

Mr Oyedeji moved the motion for the adoption of the report, seconded by Mr Sola Adams  and supported by the whole House. 
The Clerk of the House, Mr Deji Adeyemo thereafter,  read the bill for the third time. 

The Speaker, Mr Olakunle Oluomo  ordered that the clean copy of the bill be forwarded to Governor Dapo Abiodun for his assent. 

Also during plenary,  the Speaker, announced Mrs Funmilayo Adeyemi as the substantive Deputy Clerk of the House.
