Ogun State government has initiated plans to ensure the issuance of provisional permit to prospective telecommunication service providers within seven to fourteen days after the submission of applications for approval to commence work on site.

The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Tunji Odunlami made this known in Abeokuta, during a meeting with representatives from Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, and other major operators in the telecommunication industry in the state.

Mr Odunlami who described the provisional permit issued to prospective investors as a necessary requirement towards obtaining proper planning permit explained that provisional approval would allow investors to begin work on sites.

He implored investors to ensure Personal Income Tax of the consultants handling their projects was submitted alongside the application documents for approval processing, noting that delay does not come from the government but failure of investors/developers to perfect their documents.

Speaking on behalf of the Association of License Telecommunication Service Providers of Nigeria, Mr. Tochukwu Okafor appreciated the Ministry for the effort put in place at ensuring that provisional approval was issued for operation to kick-off the project, while other documents were being processed for final approval.
