Tetfund Boss Advocates Problem-Solving Researches For National Development

Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND has advocated problem solving research that would facilitate social economic development in the country.
The Executive Secretary of TETFUND, Professor Suleiman Bogoro, stated this while delivering the first annual lecture of Institute Of Agricultural, Research And Training, I,A,R and T at the Institute, Ibadan.
Professor Bogoro explained that research should not be undertaken for the mere purpose of gaining promotion as this would be counter productive.
Professor Bogoro noted that unhealthy relationships that existed between departments in the universities and research institutes had not enhanced the desired development.
He therefore called for a strong relationship between research institutes and related departments in the universities.
In her wellcome address, the Director, Institute Of Agricultural, Research And Training, I,A,R And T, Professor Veronica Obatolu said unemployment among youths had become alarming in the country saying the institute had not been able to impact the youths through requisite entrepreural training due to paucity of fund with which to acquire training facilities at the institute.
The Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, who is also the Board Chairman OF The Research Institute, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede and two former vice chancellors of university of Ibadan, Professors Olufemi Bamiro And Isaac Adewole commended the lecturer saying the lecture was an eye opener in the nations agricultural sector.
Institute Of Agricultural, Research And Training, I,A,R and T is an affiliate of obafemi awolowo university established in 1969 with the mandate of conduct agricultural research and training.
