Makinde Seeks Army Support to Tackle Insecurity
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has sought for continued support of Nigeria Army within and around the border to enhance peace and security in the state.
Governor Makinde stated this during a courtesy call on him by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouq Yahaya as part of his working visit to the 2 Division of the Nigeria army.
While acknowledging that there was ethnic tension in the country, Governor Makinde commended Nigeria Army on its efforts in tackling security challenges facing the nation.
The governor pledged that his administration would continue to play its part accordingly to support the army in the task of securing the nation.
Earlier, the Chief of Army staff, Lieutenant General Farouq Yahaya explained the visit was part of efforts to assess what is on ground in Command, preparedness and challenges confronting men and officers of the Nigeria army
The Chief of Army however lauded Governor Makinde for his assistance for the 2 Division of the Nigeria army.
