The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 11, Mr Joseph Goburn has charged officers and men of the zone to be professional, ethical and committed to the task of protecting lives and property of Nigeria.

He gave the charge in his maiden address to the officers at the command’s headquarters in Osogbo.

Mr Goburn charged the police officers that Nigeria was facing security threat both internal and external, but which are surmountable with commitment of dedicated men.

The Zone 11 AIG reminded them that since they had sworn to protect lives and property of Nigerians, it behooved on them to prove their worth with courage and resilience in overcoming the challenges.

He also tasked them to be abreast of all necessary materials required to improve their mental capacity and their knowledge of the law, with a view to respecting the rights of citizens and function efficiently among the civil populace.

Mr Goburn gave the assurance that the inspector General of Police, Mr Alkali Baba Usman was relentless in ensuring improvement in the welfare of police officers in the country.

Responding on behalf of other officers, a Deputy Commissioner of Police Zonal CID promised a renewed commitment of officers and men in the zone to policing Nigeria and remain loyal to the country.

Prayers were later conducted by the Police Chaplain and Imam for a successful tenure for the AIG.
