The Ogun State House of Assembly has convened the gathering of Stakeholders to deliberate on the establishment of Residents Registration Agency as well as a bill for Ogun State administration of Physical Planning, Urban Development, slum regeneration and building production management law 2021.

The bill for Resident Registration Agency, according to the Speaker of the House, Mr Olakunle Oluomo would go a long way in addressing the non availability of easy means of Identification of residents through the compilation of effective and reliable database for the residents.

He stressed that the House was determined to ensure that the bill receives necessary legislative backing as well as accelerated passage to ensure that the current administration adequately plan for its residents.

Mr Oluomo also expressed optimism that the bill for Ogun State administration of physical planning, urban development, slum regeneration and building production management law 2021 would aid physical planning as the State remained a developing entity, that needed to accommodate more developmental projects including investment opportunities. 

In Separate remarks, some participants, including the State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Tunji Odunlami, Director of Community Development in the State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, Mr Mudasiru Oriola and a Town planner, Francis Oyekunle advocated commitment to the usage of data generated for developmental purposes. 

They submitted that Community Development Associations should be saddled with the responsibility of verifying and presenting community residents for registration.
