An Edo South leader of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Edo state, Owèrre Dickson Imasogie, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.


The incident happened around 7.30 on Monday, 13 September 2021, on his farm at Uvbe on Benin-Agbor Road in Edo state.


It was gathered that the gunmen ambushed him at the entrance of his farm.


Standard Gazette learned that they shot severally into the air to scare other persons in the farm who took to their heels.


The victim was whisked away with his official driver and a worker on the farm through the river in the area as the gunmen used a waiting speed boat.


He was taken to an unknown destination.
At press time, the suspected kidnappers have yet to make any ransom contact with the family members.


Contacted, Edo state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bello Kontongs, promised to make an enquiry and get back.

Owere Imasogie was initially kidnapped with his driver. But the driver has since been left off the hook.
