As the world marks the international peace day, an educationist and politician Doctor Fola Akinosun has stressed the need for Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, religious or socio-political background to embrace peace at all times.

Doctor Akinosun who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo State gave the charge in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

While highlighting the importance of a peaceful atmosphere to include, unity, love and progress, Doctor Akinosun explained that no meaningful development could be achieved in an atmosphere of rancor, unrest, war and insecurity.

Doctor Akinosun cautioned against racism in the world, tribalism, and religious crises that can cause disunity in the country, noting that Nigeria can only surmount her challenges if it remained as one.

He insisted that Nigeria is not a failed state but urged government at all levels, security agencies and the people to synergy at ensuring that the fight against banditry, kidnapping, robbery and insurgency is won.

He also urged the political class not to hit up the polity and ensure justice for all irrespective of status and background.

Doctor Akinosun also warned against fake news and hate speeches which he described as one of the evil factors fuelling breech of peace across the globe.
