The Nigerian Police Force has dismissed Sergeant Samuel Philipps from its service, having found him guilty of shooting a teenager in Ijeshatedo Area of Lagos few days ago.

A release signed by the Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu says the sergeant shot the female teenager Monsurat Ojuade at close range which led to her death.

The release says Sergeant Phillips was dismissed after the conclusion of his orderly room trial. The suspect will be charged to court today for murder.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu further sympathises with the bereaved family, and reiterates his earlier promise that justice would be done in this case.

Monsurat on 11th of September was allegedly shot below the belt by Sergeant Phillips when the deceased was about to lock her mother’s shop after seeing people running helter-skelter.
