Operatives of Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspected kidnappers while trying to pick ransom money at Agbara area of the state.

The suspects, a forty two year old, Muhammed Abubakar and Clinton Niche who is 18 years of age were apprehended after one Stephen Ajibili reported at Agbara Area command that his son, Daniel Ajibili had been abducted.

Mr. Ajibili who told the policemen that his son was abducted when he was sent on errand explained that the abductors had called him and demanded for the sum of one million naira for his son’s release.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement in Abeokuta.

Mr. Oyeyemi explained that the suspects were ambushed and arrested at the location they had instructed the victim’s parents to drop the ransom money.

He said the suspects subsequently led the policemen to a bush where the innocent young boy was tied to a three by his abductors. 

Meanwhile, the acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Alamutu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to anti-kidnapping section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation. 

He also directed that the fleeing member of the gang be hunted and brought to justice within the shortest possible period.
