Police in Ogun State have arrested a twenty five year old, Bisi Omoniyi at Ajilete village for killing a fifty years old man he met at his woman friend’s house.
According to a statement by the Ogun state police command spokesman, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect was arrested on receiving a distress call that a young man has matcheted another man to death in the town.
The statement explained that the suspect was arrested at the scene of the crime while the victim was rushed to hospital before the medical doctor confirmed him dead.
The police release stated that the victim was with the woman friend to pass the night with her when the suspect, who also intended to pass the night with the same woman came knocking and was denied entry.
It was stated that the suspect later forced his way into the woman’s room and met the deceased.
The resultant fight led the suspect to pick a cutlass in the room and matcheted the victim to death.
The police statement said the victim’s corpse has been deposited at the general hospital mortuary for autopsy, while the woman in the center of the crisis has since fled.
The Ogun state command commissioner of police Mr. Lanre Bankole has ordered the transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the state criminal investigation for further investigation and prosecution
