If feelers from the national headquarters of the party is anything to go by, the postponed congress of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, may take place on Saturday.

The congress which was earlier scheduled for Saturday, 16th October, 2021 had been shifted till October 26th, 2021 following falsification of congress document.

It was learnt that the party, two days before the postponed day, announced another postponement. That was few hours after the chairman and new secretary of the congress committee, Gambo Lawal and Abdullah Bello respectively had arrived the capital city.

A statement made on behalf of the national caretaker committee by Musiliudeen Akinremi, who incidentally is from the state and represents Ibadan North federal constituency, said it was to allow unity, adding that it would now hold on 6th November, 2021.

A party source, who begged not to be named as the person wasn’t authorized to speak, said that “APC congress to be concluded this weekend.” He declined further comment when probed further.

“The stakeholders will be briefed soonest. We have to move on. The November 6 is too far because we need to do some other stuffs,” another source also spoke on condition of anonymity.

Report says the party is divided along Unity Forum/Ajimobi Legacy Forum/Adelabu/Zenith Labour Party and Folarin/Lamists/SENACO/Ladoja’s Loyalists/African Democratic Congress/Action Democratic Party/Congress for Progressives Change factions.
