Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Community Relations, Mr. Olufemi Josiah says there is need for a legislation that will encourage people to engage in volunteering activities. 

Mr. Josiah said this in Ibadan at the commemoration of Volunteers day organized by the Community Chest Council, Oyo state chapter. 

According to him, notable Nigerians and corporate organizations should always assist the governments in providing humanitarian services to those in need.

Mr. Josiah said governments on the other hand should always motivate volunteers in society.

The new Chairperson of the Oyo state Community Chest Council, Chief Olusola Olagunju noted that the council would focus more on the empowerment of women and children.

Highlight of the event was the Inauguration of the council’s new executives.
