Osun State governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has launched the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem.

The governor launched the emblem at the banquet hall of the government house with a sum of 5 million naira saying no amount is too big to honour the fallen and injured Nigerian heroes who had sacrificed their comfort and lives for national unity and peace.

Governor Oyetola who promised to continuously support and partner the legion appealed to all Nigerians to cheerfully and handsomely donate towards the emblem.

Earlier in an address, Osun State Chairman of the Nigeria Legion, Comrade Abioye Oladipupo had advocated for greater donations and support for Nigerian fallen heroes to honour those who sacrificed for national and global peace.

Comrade Oladipupo specifically appealed to the Osun State government to approve monthly subvention to State Legion headquarters and area offices, to provide them with an official vehicle and mandate local governments and LCDAs to support the legion.

Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that in attendance at the event were service chiefs, members of the Osun State Executive Council, traditional rulers and religious leaders.
