In its drive to gainfully engage the youth for optimal economic performance, the federal government through the ministry of communication and digital economy has empowered about seventy youths across Oyo state.

The capacity development program for artisans and under-served youths in digital literacy and GSM is scheduled for four locations of Gombe, Okene, Suleja and Ogbomoso.

Presenting starter packs to the beneficiaries in Ogbomoso, Senator, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Fatai Buhari, in a message through his senior special adviser Ololade Bello said the essence of the program was to empower the youth in order to make them self-reliant.

He said the empowerment was a National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA program facilitated through him for the people of Oyo state 

Also Speaking, representative of NITDA, Stanley Obiekme urged the beneficiaries to maximize the skills acquired and the tools given to them.

“You must thank Senator Fatai Buhari for bringing this opportunity to the zone. ‘Many people wish to have this opportunity, you are only blessed to be a beneficiary.” Stanley said.

Some of the beneficiaries including Saka Ganiyat and Timileyin Gbolahan thanked the Federal Government for bringing the dividends of democracy closer to them.

They promised to make good use of facilities made available to them.
