Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde says his government will continue to collaborate with the security agencies in the state to ensure a safe and secured environment.

He stated this while laying the wreath to mark this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebrations held at the Government House Arcade, Agodi, Ibadan.

He said Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration was significant to truly remember sacrifices for gallant heroes and men who paid the supreme price for a better Nigeria.

Also speaking, the chairman, Nigeria Legion, Oyo State chapter, Evangelist Julius Ogunkojo commended the state government for its contribution to support the legion.

Evangelist Ogunkojo while admonishing his members to prioritize their health, promised to spread the donation gathered during this year’s celebration of the armed forces remembrance across the 33 local governments in the state.

Other personalities that also performed the wreath-laying include, the General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Oyo State chapter, Commander, 2 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, and the Commander, 671 Nigeria Airforce Detachment, Ibadan.

Others are the Oyo State Commissioner Of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, Speaker Oyo State House Of Assembly, OYHA, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Munta Abimbola, and representative of widows of fallen heroes.  

The occasion witnessed special prayers for the departed heroes, observance of two minutes silence, firing of rounds volleys and release of ceremonial pigeons by the state governor, ‘Seyi Makinde.
