The normal activities of Idi Ape – Iwo Road area of Ibadan, Oyo State was on Thursday disrupted as suspected armed robbers attacked a bullion van conveying money.
A source which confirmed it said: ” Bank robbery
Kindly keep off Iwo Road Testing Ground Police Station Area , Idi Ape where serious robbery is happening now”.
As gathered, no fewer than two police officers were killed.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko had visited the scene of the crime.
In the meantime, motorists, commuters and passersby caught up in the robbery attack at Idi Ape, had difficult time getting out of the shock from the incident.
In a viral video circulated on social media, showing the aftermath of the incident, some of the motorists were seen frightened, while sympathizers tried to stabilize them.
The video also showed two lifeless bodies suspected to be the remains of the policemen killed during the robbery.
Another victim was an motorcyclist whose body was seen beside the drainage while a man who appears to be the owner of a jeep was seen with bullet wound
A woman also was sighted to have been overwhelmed with fear and could not drive while some others were praising God for preserving their lives from the incident.
