The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has urged members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State to unite in the coalition to unseat the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the next general elections.

Senator Omo-Agege made the call in Asaba, the state capital during the formal inauguration of the APC State Executive Committee and the Expanded Executive of the Delta State chapter of the party.

The senator representing the people of Delta Central Senatorial District of the Delta State stressed that the opposition will resist any attempt at candidate imposition on the people by the PDP leadership, through mobilizing the APC faithful and the citizenry ahead of the next general election.

He also expressed the confidence that the APC would retain the presidency in 2023, due to the successes of the current administration in virtually all sectors of the polity.

Similarly, the senator representing Delta North, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, pointed out that the plan to topple the PDP in Delta State ahead of the forthcoming election was borne out of the need to create more opportunities for the youths to attain leadership responsibilities and to improve the living condition of the masses.

The highpoint of the event was the formal inauguration of the Delta State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress, with Omeni Sobotie as Chairman and Mr Nick Ovuakporoye as Secretary.
