Osun state government has flagged off the distribution of business uplift stipend for petty traders, artisans and physically challenged tagged-Gbowoga.

Gbowoga is to provide 10 thousand nairas to 10 thousand petty traders and artisans across the state.

Speaking at the event, the wife of the governor, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola who facilitated the empowerment programme said the programme was to help petty traders strengthen their business and improve their income.

Alhaja Oyetola explained that a construction company that handled a project in the state donated part of its profit which the governor added to, to financially empower traders and artisans.

In a remark, Governor Gboyega Oyetola explained that the empowerment programme involved the state government, of the first lady and a construction company that had handled a project in the state.

He noted it would provide succour to petty traders affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Governor Oyetola called on the affluents in the country to rise to the needs of others to ensure a better society for all.

Radio Nigeria reports that some physically challenged people were issued forms at the programme which would give them access to the fund.
