Osun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), says, 12 people lost their lives in 33 auto accidents in the state in March.

This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi.

Mrs Ogungbemi said the accidents were mostly caused by violations of traffic rules and regulations.

She said the command was able to rescue 262 victims from various accidents scenes while 464 traffic offenders were apprehended within the month under review.

The Osun FRSC spokesperson, however, stressed that officers of the command would not relent in ensuring the safety of lives and property of road users, warning that any traffic violator would be sanctioned as stipulated in the law.

Mrs Ogungbemi further said that the sector was able to give out 552 drivers’ licences, while 2,861 licences were yet to be collected.
