Oyo Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has enjoined the relevant security stakeholders in Nigeria to be more tactical in tackling the security challenges facing the nation.

Governor Makinde gave the charge during an expanded security stakeholders meeting held at the House of Chiefs, state Secretariat Agodi, Ibadan.

Addressing the Security Stakeholders present at the meeting, Governor Makinde, said the meeting was called due to security breaches recently experienced in Owo, Kaduna, and other parts of the country.

Governor Makinde urged the people of the state to be security conscious, adding that security consciousness should be the business of everybody.

While commending the stakeholders for maintaining peace and tranquility in Oyo State, Governor Makinde tasked the traditional and religious leaders on the need to sensitize their people to alert the security agencies with 615 security code during emergencies.

He reiterated that his administration is only after criminals and would not allow ethnic bigotry in the state.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy matters, Bayo Lawal, expressed confidence that the meeting would proffer solutions to security challenges in the state.

The State Expanded Security Meeting conveyed by the state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde was attended by some state traditional rulers, members of the Executive council, Local government chairmen, Political appointees, State Security Chiefs, among whom was the new Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Adebowale Williams.

The Participants later had a closed-door meeting for further discussion.
