The first return flight for this year’s Hajj exercise in Saudi- Arabia left Jeddah Airport to Nigeria this morning.

The aeroplane, FLYNAS flight XY7002 departed Jeddah to Abuja with 423 FCT Pilgrims at 08:18hrs Saudi time, which was 06:18 am Nigerian time.

The plane is expected to land in Abuja around noon Nigerian time.

Chairman National Hajj Commission of Nigeria,  NAHCON, Alhaji Zikirullah  Hassan had earlier said the airlifting of pilgrims back to Nigeria which began on Friday, 15th July would be on first-in, first-out basis. 

Alhaji Hassan who asked for the cooperation of other stakeholders gave an assurance that the airlifting of pilgrims back to Nigeria would have been completed before August 13 deadline given by Saudi Arabia. 

Pilgrims from Borno and Osun States are also expected to depart Saudi- Arabia today.
