Osun State Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke has decried the spate of massive employment in the State by the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.

Senator Adeleke in a release signed by his Chairman, Media Management Team, Prince Diran Odeyemi alleged that the Governor has concluded plans to convert over Ten Thousand O’Yes Cadets to the permanent staff of the State Government in various ministries, agencies and parastatals in the state.

He described such a move as the deliberate planting of mines for the incoming government as it is done in bad taste.

The Governor-Elect also alleged the purported impromptu conversion of about three thousand Part-Time Staff in the state’s four tertiary Institutions to Permanent Staff so as to increase the amount of salaries and wages in the state.

Sources in the Human Resources Unit in the office of the Head of Service alleged that the Governor had given them the directive to commence the eleventh hours mass recruitment into the State Civil Service.

The source was also alleged to have disclosed further employment of Teachers both in the State Universal Primary Education (SUBEB) and Post Primary Schools across the state, the teacher’s employment which had earlier been put on hold after a series of screenings of the applicants by the State Ministry of Education since about three years ago.

“It would be recalled that the government sold the teacher’s employment form to over Ten Thousand Applicants in the state at a sum of Three Thousand Naira (N3,000) and employed only one thousand out of the candidates.”

The Governor-Elect queried why the All Progressives Congress (APC) government failed to conduct massive employment into the state civil service in the last twelve years they had taken over the government, despite the fact that there was massive retirement of staff without replacement.

The Governor-Elect, therefore, cautioned Mr. Oyetola not to fuel the embers of labour and industrial crisis for his Government to inherit as the mantle of leadership will soon be taken by the PDP Government.

He however assured the people of the state that his government would generate employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths in the state without political sentiment, religious consideration and gross nepotism.
