Over fifty thousand women in Ogun State have benefitted from the financial empowerment scheme introduced by the present administration to eradicate poverty among women.

The state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who made this known at the validation exercise of ward facilitators of the scheme, held at the Oba’s Complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, announced that beneficiaries of the scheme in three local government areas of the state had saved over 500 million naira through contributions.

While explaining that his administration would give a loan to each participant four-fold of whatever she might have contributed, Governor Abiodun urged the ward facilitators not to make the programme a party affair, but to extend it to others.
