Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has resumed duty after three weeks of annual leave with a promise to work till the last minute in office to serve the people of the state in spite of the politicking nature of the democratic system ahead of the 2023 election.

He said this while addressing top government functionaries and political aides who have come to welcome him back to the Agodi, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

While extolling the virtues of the deputy, Chief Bayo Lawal who presided over the affairs of the state as acting governor in the last three weeks, Governor Makinde said no vacuum was felt while he was away from the office.

He said the way the deputy governor handled the affairs of the state demonstrated that the present administration in Oyo State is being run by a strong team, fortified with strong men.

Governor Seyi Makinde also appreciated the entire people of the state for their commitment, responsibility and loyalty to his government, even when he was away.

Earlier, the deputy governor, Chief Bayo Lawal, noted that the responsibilities of handling the affairs of the state were enormous.

He appreciated the governor for the confidence reposed in him and the people of the state for their cooperation.

Special prayers were offered for the governor and the state at large by the chairmen of Pilgrim Welfare Boards (Muslim and Christian Wings) Professor Sayed Malik and Bishop Ademola Morakinyo.
