Makinde, Ortom flag off Projects in Oyo

Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom wants Nigerians to continue to pray and support the country’s leadership in the face of challenging task of governance across the country.

He gave the charge at the flag off ceremony for the construction of Senator Rashidi Ladoja GRA and naming of the circular road project after Senator Ladoja held at Km 8 /10, Lagos Ibadan expressway.

Governor Ortom maintained that citizens have the right to engage their leaders regularly for meaningful development.

In his keynote address before the flag off, Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom acknowledged Senator Rashidi Ladoja’s role in the nation’s polity, adding that it was too late for him to compromise his stance on building the nation.

He also lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for demonstrating knowledge and capacity to truly govern especially with the challenges of paucity of funds, noting that the projects were in line with economic realities for a better Oyo state.

Delivering his address, Governor Makinde said his administration had considered proven economic realities of the projects before adopting them, assuring residents of the state of more developmental projects.

Responding, the former Governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja expressed gratitude for the honour and urged people in position of authority not to see themselves as emperor and rather consult their constituency before making decisions.

Highlight of the programme was the cutting of 78th birthday of Senator Rasidi Ladoja.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mahood Lekan Balogun, other high chiefs in Ibadanland, traditional rulers, religious leaders, top government functionaries graced the ceremony.
