Vulnerable persons in Ogun State, including the aged and the youth, are to benefit from the Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme of the state government scheduled to commence next month. 

The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who made this known at Sagamu, during a Town Hall Meeting on the 2023/2025 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and 2023 budget for Remo Division, said the scheme would also be extended to traders.

Governor Abiodun explained that the Conditional Cash Transfer scheme as part of the government’s Social Security Intervention to make life more comfortable for the people would start in 30 days’ time. 

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers in Remo Zone, the Akarigbo of Remo land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi who said llara township road had been cut off, urged the government to construct an alternative route through Akaka and Irolu town.

He also called on the State Road Maintenance Agency to always liaise with traditional rulers on the repair of roads within their domains.

Representatives of trade unions, religious bodies and community leaders who spoke at the meeting, urged the government to give priority to the welfare of the people, particularly in the areas of empowerment, youth training and infrastructure.
