Oyo State government says it has postponed the commencement of the measles vaccination scheduled to begin on Thursday, 20th October till next week Thursday 27th of October for effective health care delivery.
Ibadan North West Local Government Immunization Officer, Mr Adedamola Adeniran stated this in Ibadan.
Mr Adeniran who explained that measles immunization was essential to children, noted that measles is contagious and could result in deafness, blindness and dullness.
He said that there was an outbreak of measles in Ibadan, last year, and it was immediately arrested.
Mr Adeniran urged parents and guardians to make their children available for immunization, pointing out that the children who took it last year were also entitled.
