At least six people have been reportedly killed when two World War II-era planes collided during an air show in Dallas on Saturday.

According to the Allied Pilots Association of America video footage of the crash seen on the internet showed two of the planes, flying in the air, colliding with each other and parts breaking off in different directions. They landed in an explosion.

According to reports, the two planes were participating in a commemorative Wings Over Dallas Air-show at Dallas Executive Airport.

The number of people involved in the crash remains unknown at the time of this publication.

According to report, the Allied Pilots Association, which represents American Airlines pilots, said Terry Barker and Len Root, two of its former members, were among those killed in the collision.

The plane has been identified as a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and a smaller Bell P-63 Kingcobra.

The number of casualties has yet to be confirmed, but no injuries to spectators or others on the ground have been reported,” Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson tweeted.

He added that the Federal Aviation Administration is leading an investigation into the collision and the executive airport will remain closed for the duration of the investigation.
