Ogun State government has organized a roundtable dialogue on Agriculture with a resolve to sustain the profitable engagement of youths in the sector. 

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Adeola Odedina announced this in Abeokuta at an event organized for participants drawn from the six local government areas in Ogun Central Senatorial District. 

Dr Odedina said the roundtable dialogue and agricultural show held at the Ake Palace as part of the activities to commemorate this year’s Lisabi Day Festival was aimed at encouraging the people to take advantage of the various initiatives of the present administration to boost the economy through Agriculture. 

The commissioner for agriculture who spoke on “farm to table: bringing agricultural opportunities of Governor Dapo Abiodun to the door step of the public” said the present administration was promoting more investments in the agricultural value chain to enhance food production. 

Other speakers at the event advocated the sustenance of government’s initiatives to support farmers and make the sector attractive to the youths through the consistent supply of farm inputs and other incentives through the Central Bank of Nigeria. 

In a remark, Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo who said there was the need for Nigerians to embrace agriculture to drive development in other sectors emphasized that Agriculture would also ensure job opportunities for the youths.
