Former Vice Chancellor of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU, Ago-Iwoye, Professor Odutola Osilesi, is dead.

Professor Osilesi died at the age of 75.

 The Professor of Biochemistry was born on January 18th,1948. 

He attended Ago-Iwoye Secondary School between 1960-1965 and Hussey College, Warri from 1966 to 1967.

 Late Osilesi obtained a B.SC degree in Chemistry in 1973 and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Nutritional Biochemistry from Howard University, Washington D.C, United States of America in 1981.

The late Professor Osilesi joined the service of Olabisi Onabanjo University as a Lecturer 1in December 1984 and rose to become a Professor on 7th July, 1997.

He has served as Head, Department of Biochemistry for a period of eight years and Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences for about three years.

Late Professor Osilesi served as the deputy vice chancellor of OOU from 2003 to 2005 and later served as the university’s vice chancellor from 2006-2009.
