A foremost Journalist and former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba has called on the Media Professionals to remain resolute and be committed to the tenets of Journalism, describing it as a profession of integrity and honour.

Chief Osoba made the call while inaugurating the League of Veteran Journalists’ House built by members of the League, Oyo State Chapter, within the premises of NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

The one-time Journalist who was renowned as one of the Three Musketeers in the Media Industry said, Veteran Journalists in Oyo State had put in their best to the Profession, noting that, they never compromised their integrity, hence, the need to have a place of their own for meetings, relaxation and where they can further continue to add values to the nation’s development.

Speaking, Chairman, League of Veteran Journalists, Oyo State Chapter, Mr Banji Ogundele said, he was happy to be part of the history-making event, maintaining that the House would afford members a great opportunity to come together and remain relevant on issues of national interest.

Chairman on the Occasion, a Legal Luminary, Chief Niyi Akinola commended the Veteran Journalists for their unflinching contributions to the Country, saying they would continue to mentor the younger journalists in a more conducive environment.

On his part, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Oyo State Council, Mr. Ademola Babalola noted that the Leaders in the field of Journalism deserved better treatment as they had added invaluable contributions to the advancement of Media Profession in the Country.

While speaking with Radio Nigeria, Chairman, Building Committee, Alhaji Kola Animasaun appreciated the Benefactors, Members of the League and others who supported the initiative that led to the success of the building being commissioned.

Dignitaries at the Occasion include, Former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Prince Segun Adesegun, Special Adviser on Media to the Oyo State Governor, Pastor Sulaiman Olanrewaju, Chief Executive Officer, Impact Business Radio, Deacon Owolabi Oladejo, former Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph and a renowned Broadcaster, Chief Bamiji Ojo
