Association of Nigerian Broadcasters, ANBROAD, has reiterated its commitment to training and retraining of members and ensuring their interests are professionally protected in the society.

President of the Association, Alhaji AbdulRasaq AbdulGaneey Popularly known as Mr. G.R.A. stated this while addressing the Press and Members of the Association at a Meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Alhaji AbdulGaneey said, that ANBROAD as a registered Professional Body would focus on the socioeconomic emancipation of members and amplifying their voices through professionalism.

“We will empower ANBROAD Ethical and Professional Standard Committee to keep a close watch on the Broadcast Media landscape to ensure responsible content”, he said.

He urged every Accredited Member of the Association to obtain a Unique Professional Number, UPN, which would serve as a means of distinguishing them from the quacks, calling on Media Houses, Advertisers and others seeking professional services of Broadcasters to always check their UPN.

The President of ANBROAD further maintained that the Association would continue to collaborate with government, agencies and relevant stakeholders for mutual and beneficial relationships for its members.

“ANBROAD is a family, a community bound together by a shared passion for broadcasting, the voice for the voiceless, the champions of truth and the guardians of ethical standards.”

While speaking, the Secretary of the Steering Committee which handed over to the Alhaji AbdulRasaq AbdulGaneey-led Executive, Alhaji Sulaimon Adegbenro commended members of the Association for standing tall in the Industry, urging them to continue to support the President in his efforts to make the Association a beautiful bride for all in the Country.

Some of the Elders of the Association who were commended for their supportive roles include Ace Broadcasters, Kolade Alabi, Alhaji Gboyega Lawal, Chief Abey Fagboro, Dr. Bade Ojuade, Mr. Yemi Sonde, Chief Timothy Agboola (Erekenisoobu),  Alhaji AbdulFatai Dan-Kazeem among others.
