Ogun State government has cautioned market men and women in the state against indiscriminate dumping of waste and advised them to work with the relevant authorities to ensure a clean environment as part of efforts to check the spread of Cholera.

A Special Adviser to the Governor and Managing Director, Ogun State Waste Management Authority, OGWAMA, Mr  Abayomi Hunye appealed Abeokuta, during a meeting with the leaders and members of the State Association of Market Men and Women.

Mr Hunye vowed that the government would not hesitate to shut down any market promoting improper waste disposal and operating in a dirty environment, especially when the country was battling the cholera outbreak.

Mr Hunye who affirmed that the State government placed waste collection bins in strategic places in most of the markets, with some being serviced by Waste Operators, urged the traders to promote sanitation and proper hygiene.
