Osun State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of the Board Chairman and Corps Commander Osun State Security Network and Amotekun Corps, Retired AIG Wale Abass and Dr. Isaac Omoyele.

The appointees were earlier screened by the legislators during plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House, Prince Adewale Egbedun at the House of Assembly Complex, Osogbo.

In line with the records available to the legislators, AIG Wale Abass and Dr. Isaac Omoyele were said to be seasoned and experienced security men who have served the nation in different capacities, with proven integrity.

Describing the appointees as a round peg in a round hole, the Speaker said the state is lucky to have the duo as the new leaders of Amotekun Security Network.

Prince Egbedun urged them to leverage their wealth of experience to enhance security across the state. 

Speaking with Newsmen shortly after the legislative procedures, The new Chairman and the Corps Commander of Osun State Security Network and Amotekun Corps, AIG Wale Abass and Dr. Omoyele pledged to work closely with relevant stakeholders in the state to combat crime and ensure the security of lives and property.

Earlier, the Osun State Local Government Amendment Bill No. 1, 2024 scaled through its final passage.

The Speaker said the clean copy of the Bill would be forwarded to the Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for executive assent.
