Announcing this during the signing of the contract at the governor’s office in Ado Ekiti, the project coordinator of the Ekiti State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, Mr Sunday Adumo, emphasized that this initiative would boost agricultural infrastructure and increase food production in the state.

He said the projects are funded through a collaboration between the World Bank and the state government, while five, out of the seven contractors awarded the projects were locals.

The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Ebenezer Boluwade, the Commissioner for Information, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun, and the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Kolawole Ajobiewe, highlighted the significance of the rural economy and charged the contractors to deliver quality jobs.
