Radio, Television and Theatre Art Workers Union, RATTAWU, FRCN Ibadan Chapter has elected Comrade Babatunde Imam as the New chairman of the union for a two-year tenure in office.
Comrade Imam clinched the position at a keenly contested election having polled a total vote of ninety to defeat his rival Olumide Ogunbiyi who scored forty-four.
Also elected were Olawale Mustapha, Vice chairman, Peter Uwaga, Secretary, Samshudeen Jimoh, as Assistant Secretary.
Adekemi Lawal won the post of Financial Secretary, Rotimi Oladunjoye emerged treasurer, Fatai Adigun Public Relations Officer while Rebecca Williams was elected as Auditor unopposed.
Inaugurating the new executive, Oyo State Chairman of RATTAWU, Comrade Aribatise Adebayo commended members of the union for their conduct and solicited their cooperation for the new excos to ensure a successful tenure.
In his Inaugural address, the new Chairman, Rattawu, FRCN Ibadan Chapter, Comrade Babatunde Imam promised robust welfare for members while calling for cooperation and support from contestants and outgone executives.
Declaring the conference open, the Zonal Director FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr Dominic Mokikan commended the Sola Aremu-led executive whose tenure of office expired for their laudable projects, urging the new helmsman to evolve new modalities in addressing issues bothering welfare of members.
