Nigerians have been encouraged  to intensify their prayers for sustainable peace and socioeconomic development of the country.

A religious leader, the Reverend Canon Samuel Soretire gave the advice in  sermon at a special church service to mark 2024 Public Service Day Celebration, held at the Government House Chapel auditorium, Oke Igbehin, Abeokuta.

The Reverend Canon Soretire in the sermon entitled “Reasonable Service to God and Humanity” encouraged Nigerians not to be deterred with the current economic realities but to remain fervent in their supplications to God.

Describing the Civil Servants as an integral components of the machinery for the implementation and execution of government’s policies, the religious leader encouraged them to be diligent in the discharge of their duties.

In a remark, the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya restated the commitment of the present administration to continue to invest in the workforce, with a view to making it vibrant and efficient.

Mr Onasanya acknowledged the roles of Public Servants in the building of our future agenda of the current administration, adding that the trajectory of any state could only be changed through  the services, cooperation and commitment of its workforce.

He maintained that Ogun State economy was growing through the strategic planning of the government to achieve economic clusters, adding that the state could boast of the highest number of free trade zones in the country.

The special church service attracted top government functionaries ,different categories of workers and featured prayer sessions for the workers in Ogun State and Nigeria.
