Employers of labour have been advised to establish a strong system for effective monitoring and evaluation of their workforce while paying adequate attention to the provision of incentives and recognition for accountability.

A Former Head of Service in Ogun State and immediate past Commissioner of the Federal Civil Service Commission, in charge of Lagos and Ogun States, Princess Iyabode Odulate advised at a Symposium in Abeokuta, to round off the 2024 Ogun Public Service Day Celebration with the theme “Building a Socially Responsive Public Service in the 21st Century: the Place of Ethics and Value”

Princess Odulate also charged the public servants to adhere strictly to the code of ethics guiding their conduct in office, refrain from misusing their powers and authority, and recognize and uphold the trust reposed in them by the citizens.

Addressing the gathering, Ogun State Governor, Prince  Dapo Abiodun highlighted the significance of ethics and values for a high-performing workforce and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to investing in human capital development,  to promote productivity and excellence.

Governor Abiodun appealed to all workers in the state to continue as committed and dedicated partners in progress and discharge their duties with the utmost sense of responsibility, assuring them that his administration had put in place proactive measures to prevent the accumulation of promotion backlogs.

Earlier, the Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya, had applauded the state workforce, for their dedication and hard work, encouraging them to continue rendering exceptional service to the public and make the workforce more mission-driven, customer-focused, and transparent in its operations.
