NSE Ready to Partner Osun on Infrastructure Development

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke says he is committed to infrastructural development of the state.

Governor Adeleke stated this while receiving the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers,NSE, Mrs. Margaret Oguntala and her team who were on a two day audit and validation tour of Osun infrastructure projects.

The Governor said his government is convinced that economic growth and development is best achieved when the infrastructure sector is well developed.

He said he is determined to take Osun to greater heights with strong passion to bridge the infrastructure gap in the state.

“Good infrastructure facilitates economic development and good governance. In 2023, I announced an ambitious infrastructure plan across the sectors. Many doubled our capacity to implement the various projects. To the glory of God, we have proved critics wrong. We have shown that we have the will, the capacity and the knowledge to achieve our goals”.

Earlier, the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Mrs. Margaret Oguntala had commended Governor Adeleke for his local content policy and infrastructure agenda.

Mrs. Oguntala noted that all the ongoing infrastructure projects of present administration are 95% local content, which is highly commendable.

She said the NSE is ready to partner with the state government to move Osun from a civil service state to an industrialized one hub.

The team also conveyed the award of Best Governor in Infrastructure Development by the United Kingdom chapter of NSE to the Governor, an event that was held earlier in the UK.

Governor Adeleke who appreciated the UK chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers dedicated the award to the people of Osun State, noting that Osun is currently a huge construction site.

While jointly inspecting the ongoing construction of Okefia flyover, the NSE team again reaffirmed the earlier validation, describing the ongoing flyover as world class.

After listening to the contractor and the consultant, Governor Adeleke re-echoed the statements of the consultant that the project will be completed within the 12 months timeline.
