It was a matter of give and take between Ogun State Parastatals and the Mainstream Ministries when the Parastatals’ Male team secured a one-nil win over their Mainstream counterparts and female squad for the Mainstream reversed the treatment by defeating the Parastatals’ Women with the same margin of a lone goal.
The final scoreline of concessions and compromises for renewed teamwork climaxed the Wednesday evening football encounters among other indoor and outdoor games held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta as part of activities for the 2024 Ogun State Public Service Day Celebration.
Assessing the competitions, Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya said the sporting activities would be organized regularly to enable the workers to actively participate in sports for mental and physical alertness.
Mr Onasanya who commended governor Dapo Abiodun for giving priority to workers welfare, said engaging in regular exercise would complement the advantages of the health insurance scheme for workers.
Also, the Commissioner for Sports Development, Mr Wasiu Isiaka who appreciated the workers for their dedication restated the commitment of the present administration towards the development of sports in the state.
High point of the events, witnessed by the Deputy Governor, Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele and other top government functionaries, was presentation of medals to different categories of winners in the indoor and outdoor games.
