Oyo State Acting Governor, Chief Bayo Lawal has been bestowed with a Prestigious Special Award of the ‘Best Acting Governor’ of the Year 2024, by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station.
The award was presented to Chief Lawal during a Special Live Programme anchored by Funmilayo Ilesanmi and Imoyosola Adetoro, on Radio Nigeria, Oba Adebimpe Road, Broadcasting House, Dugbe, Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.
Presenting the award on, the Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan, Mr Dominic Mokikan said, the award became imperative due to the exemplary leadership role of Chief Bayo Lawal as the Acting Governor of Oyo State and support as the Deputy Governor to the administration of Engineer Seyi Makinde.
Responding on behalf of the Acting Governor of Oyo State, the Special Assistant on Administration, Alhaji Adekunle Sanni said he was elated to be honoured by an Organisation such as Radio Nigeria, saying he never knew his commitments and contributions to Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration were being monitored.
The Kishi-born politician maintained that he would continue to contribute his quota to the development, peace and growth of Oyo State in any capacity he finds himself, adding that, Governor Seyi Makinde is always ready to make the state a Pacesetter that it is, in the comity of States in the Federation in terms of socio-economic and infrastructural development across the State.
He appreciated Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station under the leadership of its Zonal Director, Mr Dominic Mokikan for the honour, saying it would spur him to do more for his dear people of Oyo State.
On the entourage of the representative of the Acting Governor is the Special Assistant on Print Media, Mr Omolere Omoetan and the Coordinator, National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations, Oyo State Chapter, Alhaji Dawood Afolabi, while the Assistant Director of Administration, Reverend Adebayo Eso joined the Zonal Director for the presentation.
