As Osun State celebrates 33 years of its creation, Stakeholders have advocated the need for the State to build its Electricity grid, to attract more investors and improve the Economy of the State.
A team of panellists made the Call during a Colloquium Marking the 33rd Anniversary of the creation of Osun State and unveiling of the Rehabilitated OLU OSHUNGBOHUN HALL, held at the Press Center, Osogbo.
The Panelists included; Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, Public Commentator, Dr. Waheed Lawal, Veteran Broadcaster, Elder Lekan Atobatele and The Special Adviser to The State Governor on media, Mr. Femi Adefila.
They noted that the State had recorded remarkable Gains and development which cut across the various administrations which had ruled the State in the last 33 years.
The panellists emphasized the need for the government to create an environment that would enable companies to thrive and reduce unemployment.
They stressed that illegal encroachment by Fulani herdsmen across the nation is affecting the Farmers hence the need to Checkmate the activities of the herdsmen
Speaking on behalf of the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, The State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Kolapo Alimi who reeled out the various ongoing and completed projects by the Governor, assured that more development would be achieved with the support of the Residents.
Also in his contribution, The Chairman, of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mr. Wasiu Ajadosu explained that the event was organized to celebrate the creation of the State to evaluate the growth, development, challenges and prospects.
Highlights of the event were the presentation of Awards to Distinguished Individuals who have positively impacted the Union’s development and the commissioning of the rehabilitated Olu Oshungbohun Hall by the Governor.
