The Ogun State Government has called for peace and mutual understanding among investors, farmers, and other stakeholders operating within its forest reserves.
Commissioner for Forestry, Mr. Taiwo Oludotun, who made the call in Abeokuta at a peace meeting with stakeholders from Ilaro, said investors were partners in progress, assuring that government was determined to protect their interests and investments.
Represented by Permanent Secretary, Mr. Timothy Olatunji, the Commissioner expressed concern over the influx of herdsmen in the reserve and called for immediate action to stop the practice.
Alhaji Hadi Sani, Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Ethnic Affairs, Alhaji Hadi Sani reassured investors in Ogun State of the government’s commitment to protecting their investments.
Also speaking, Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Ado-Odo/Ota, Ipokia and Yewa Local Governments, Alhaji Musa Adams, commended the government for convening the meeting and promised to take immediate action to address the issues raised.
