Osun State Government has reiterated its commitment towards ensuring that the state is self-sufficient in power supply and also exported to neighbouring states.

Governor Ademola Adeleke gave the assurance in his remarks at the flag-off of construction and relocation of Obokun 33KV Feeder Line which span from Osunjela to Ilesa-West Local Government Secretariat, Ilesha, held at Ilesa West Local Government Secretariat. Omi-Aladiye, Osogbo Road, Ilesa.

Governor Adeleke noted that his administration’s focus to bring economic growth to the people of Osun through constant power supply, saying he has a robust plan to transform the state energy and electricity market through appropriate policy and legislation.

We are acting fast on the energy space because power supply is an engine room of economic growth, regular power supply boosts economic activities and our vision is that Osun State is self-sufficient in power supply and also export power to neighbouring states.”

Earlier, the Commissioner for Energy, Mr Festus Adeyemo had explained that the 33KV Feeder Line would enhance the economy and social life of the people in the part of the state, adding that the project when completed would restore and improve the electricity supply to key areas, including parts of Ilesa West the majority of towns in Obokun Local Government, Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government and Kajola and Osunjela in Atakumosa West Local Government.

In their separate goodwill messages, the traditional ruler of Kajola, Oba Aderibigbe Omirin and Iyaloja of Ijesaland, Mrs Ogunteni Odutola appreciated the Governor for his developmental projects across the state noting that within two years of his administration, Ijesaland has witnessed unprecedented development.
