The Osun State Senior Secondary Education Board Establishment Bill 2024 scaled through its final passage.
Members of the State House of Assembly after careful and thorough deliberations on the Bill passed it during plenary presided by the Speaker, Prince Adewale Egbedun held on the floor of the House.
The motion for the final passage of the Bill was moved by the Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Mr Babajide Kofoworola and seconded by Member Representing, Ila State Constituency, Alhaji Sikiru Bajepade.
In his remark, The Speaker, Prince Egbedun who explained that the bill aimed to manage senior secondary schools assured that it would overall the Senior secondary schools in the State.
Speaker Egbedun “The passage of the bill is necessary to put the senior secondary school affairs in good shape in the state”.
“The bill is best one at this moment for the development of Senior secondary schools across the state’ he added.
He noted that the clean copy would be produced and forwarded to the State Governor Ademola Adeleke for Assent.
Also, The House dissolved into the Committee of the whole to discuss, the Osun State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps Establishment Amendment no l Bill 2024.
Presenting the Policy Thurst of the Bill, the Majority Leader of the House of Assembly, Mr Babajide Kofoworola explained that the bill would enhance the operation of the Corps.
Mr. Kofoworola stressed that the bill when passed into law would give power to Amotekun Corps to arrest, detain and prosecute the criminals in the state.
In their various remarks, some lawmakers described the bill as a fantastic one which would further enhance the security of the State.
