The founder of AWA Foundation and Asiwaju Adinni of Afijio Local Government, Oyo State, Alhaji Wasiu Ademola-Alli has been Honoured with a Special Award of “The Philanthropist of the Year”.
The Special Award was presented to Alhaji Ademola-Alli who is also the Otun Aare Musulumi of Fiditi by the Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan during a Live Programme at Broadcasting House, Oba Adebimpe Road, Dugbe, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Award, according to the Zonal Director of the Corporation, Mr Dominic Mokikan who was represented by the Deputy Director Outside Broadcast and Sports, Dr Abiodun Ogidan, was in recognition of Alhaji Wasiu Ademola-Alli’s exceptional philanthropy and contributions towards the development of society and humanity.
Mr Mokikan, however, maintained that Radio Nigeria as a Flagship of Broadcasting in the Country would continue to sustain professionalism, uplifting the people and uniting the Nation without bias.
Responding, the recipient of the Award, Alhaji Wasiu Ademola-Alli thanked Radio Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station for closely monitoring his activities and contributions to the progress of others.
He appreciated God who enables his philanthropy and other social impact initiatives to be felt and noticed in the society, despite not being the richest person around and believing that God would give him the heart, courage and strength to continue to make an impact
The Fiditi-Born Retired Civil Servant enjoined well meaning individuals to always show concern for others and make service to Humanity their watchword.
