Pastor Paul Jenfa, a clergyman, admonished Nigerians always to evaluate themselves and reflect on what they would be remembered for after death.

Pastor Jenfa, who gave the warning while ministering at the Wake and Night of Tributes for former Oyo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Isaac Omodewu.

The cleric while reading from the Book of Romans chapter 4, Verses 7 to 9, stressed the need for all mortals to be mindful of how impactful their lives would be, what would be the end of their life and the testimonials people would share about them.

Son and daughter of the deceased, Mr Eniola Omodewu and Miss Omobosola Omodewu led hymms to celebrate life and times of their father.

Speaking on behalf of the Omodewu family, a younger brother of the departed APC Chairman, Mr Abiodun Omodewu noted that Chief Omodewu was a community leader par excellence, a good listener and dedicated brother with many positive impacts on the lives of people around him.

Two in-laws of the Omodewu dynasty, Mr Bayo Ayankunle and Mr Abayomi Babalola described Chief Isaac Omodewu as a pillar of support and a promise keeper, who would be greatly missed for his cheerful generosity.

President, Otu Community Descendants, Pa Johnson Kehinde said Chief Omodewu was a committed leader who went beyond the call of duty in his numerous contributions to the growth of his native land.

Otu has lost a great leader, beacon of hope, an illustrious son and achiever, who facilitated jobs for many youths and used his influence to attract 2 Microfinance Banks to our area for the betterment of all “, Pa Kehinde said.

One of the deceased friends of over forty years, Mr Bisi Akande remarked that Chief Omodewu was an illustrious and passionate son of Otu who contributed to many development projects in the town

“He would always called to know about situations in Otu and Nigeria; he constructed the first round about in Otu. We thank God for a life well spent” he stated.

 Oyo State governorship candidate of APC during the 2023 general elections, Senator Teslim Folarin stated that Chief Omodewu was a trustworthy, peace loving and a core progressive leader who worked for the party’s landmark victory and unity till he breathed his last.

One of his fellow cabinet members during the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s tenure, a former Commissioner for Information, Mr Toye Arulogun said Chief Omodewu was an astute administrator, good manager and a dependable ally who would be remembered for his sterling qualities.

Chief Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu (1963-2024), was a Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Commissioner for Land, Housing and Urban Development between 2011 and 2019 and the Chairman, Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC until his death on 18th August, 2024 in the United States of America.

Funeral and burial services continue today at the First Baptist Church, Otu in Itesiwaju Local Government area of Oyo State.
